Georgetown Art in the Square's mission is to provide central Texas access to a broad array of art experiences and to help support Georgetown and central Texas’ art education.

For two days during October 17th and 18th, Georgetown, Texas will be holding their first annual outdoor fine art and contemporary art festival, presented in Georgetown’s historic downtown square. Produced by The Blue Lotus Art Show Tour “Georgetown Art in the Square” is guaranteed to bring artists from many disciplines together for an un-comparable art event. The festival is sponsored by the City of Georgetown and the Georgetown Arts & Culture Board to provide a wide array of art experiences through the year. This art festival features 150 contemporary and fine artists, transforming the historic Georgetown Square into an outdoor art gallery. The art will be accompanied by the wonderful, and wide range of restaurants serving food and beverages in the Downtown Square area.

Many of the artists that first showed in Georgetown last year during the 2008 Art In The Park are returning to the new Georgetown Art in the Square. Cari Miller, Tourism Manager for the city expressed her delight with the new downtown event saying, “We are so happy to be sponsoring the new Art in the Square and continuing to celebrate the visual arts in Georgetown. We are hoping to make this an annual fall tradition.” With the City of Georgetown sponsoring the event, you are guaranteed an un-comparable retail experience buying directly from the artists who created the work. This year it is a FREE event and you are all invited to enjoy!
